Love this graphic from Todoist!
The Hub - "Tell me when you are done work and we will go for a walk."
Me - "Tell me when we are going for a walk and I will be done work."
Just like any parent or homeowner or pretty much any human in general, any self-employed person will tell you they are never 'done' - there is always more to do.
And for me, time rarely flies faster than in the summer and when I'm working. So I've been trying the Pomodoro Technique and my timer is getting quite a good workout!
The Pomodoro Technique (so named because the founder used a tomato kitchen timer ) suggests taking a mini 5-minute break every 25 minutes and after 4 sets (or s) take a longer 15-20-minute break.
What I love about this technique is:
- knowing that a stretch, bio break, a breath of fresh air, a beverage, or some wee diversion is just around the corner.
- knowing I have just 25 minutes to work helps me hyper-focus on one single task, ie writing this post!
- actually appreciating and looking forward to getting back to my work!
Give it a try or do some more research on it, if you are so inclined. I'd tell you more about it but I have to stop writing now, my timer went off!
Happy July'ing, Steph

Lots of feedback still coming in after last week's post, Ain't No Room in My Heart for Hate. If you missed it, you can check it out here!
If you have some energy to do a random niceness for someone you respect or a business you appreciate - leave them a surprise kudos, review, or recommendation on LinkedIn or Google. It costs nothing but a few minutes of your time and it matters to them!
