This was a BIG year in business for me! To start with, 2025 marked my 20th year in the speaking industry. People often think what I do is very different from my previous career in nursing, but I don't. I went into nursing to help people, and that's exactly what I do in this career - I just choose a little more of an unusual niche than most of my healthcare colleagues!
The year ended with the highest honour one can receive in my industry: I was inducted into the Speaking Hall of Fame in my home country of Canada! Wow - what a shock and honour. The best part was being able to publicly acknowledge all the people who helped and supported me on my journey over the decades.
This year's events took me from recognizable destinations such as Las Vegas and Niagara Falls to quaint towns like Rockland, Maine, and Owasso, Oklahoma, and, yes, even the odd virtual event right from my home-studio! The groups varied as much as the locations, from the ND Bureau of Criminal Investigations to those in Human Resources and Civil Service Workers to my beloved Healthcare Audiences; all shared a common task - they are all 'nice for a living'.
Through them all, great big fancy stages to smaller to more modest, intimate events - I never forget what a privilege it is to have my microphone turned on and an opportunity to be a catalyst for positive change.
