Worry vs. Concern: A Better Way to Think

Me and Worry? We’re not on speaking terms anymore.

He’s not a good friend. He shows up uninvited, hogs my time, blows everything out of proportion, and honestly? He's exhausting. He’s not rational, he’s not helpful, and he sure isn’t kind. Nothing good comes from Worry's visits.

But Concern? Concern is different.

Concern is calm. Concern says, “Okay, let’s look at this and see what we can do.” It brings reason to the table. It lets me ask, “Is there an action I can take?” or “What’s actually within my control?”

 Where worry spirals, concern sorts.

So I’m learning to trade Worry for Concern—to stay thoughtful, not fearful.

To choose grounded over frantic. To give my energy to solutions, not imaginary disasters.

It’s a work in progress, but hey—at least I’m not catastrophizing that.

Over to you...

What's going on in your world that you could try to shift from Worry to Concern?

 Ahhh, how does that feel?

On the Nightstand

How to Stop Time - Matt Heig - Fiction - Presence is the real antidote to time.  Think you want to live forever? Think again and maybe just live these fleeting decades well! We can’t control how fast time moves, but we can choose how deeply we engage with the moment we’re in. That’s where life happens. That’s where transformation begins.  Joy and meaning don’t come from escaping time—they come from being fully present in it.

In Case You Missed It - Capture Moments, Live Fully

Where in the World is Steph?

Eight days in Ontario - my birthplace; so many highlights, it was like 3 trips in one. Three-day Mastermind Weekend with my professional association, CAPS Experts who Speak; three days in Toronto full of live music, a lot of dogs, yummy food, connecting with amazing colleagues and long-time friends, playing open mic night with a base player accompaniment, and three days in Niagara Falls - seeing them lit up for Pride (on the US side!). And then more connecting with far-away friends, a fabulous audience, and getting to meet Darcy (below), the Executive Director of the home that my dear, 104-year-old Auntie Rose was in - he knew her personally and said what a lovely lady she was.

My heart is full, thank you Ontario, I love you still!
